best dating tips for men first dateFirst dates are always nerve-wrecking, especially for those who are new or reentering the dating scene. If you’re planning to go on a date with a new girl, here are 7 of the best dating tips for men to help make your first date an enjoyable experience for the both of you.

Tip #1: Do a Pre-Date Research

If it’s setup by a friend or a family member, fish some information from them. You could also check out her social media account. Or, if you met on a dating site, exchange emails or call her up.

For example, you found out she’s into animals. Perhaps you could have a date at the zoo, or something like that.

Tip #2: Pay Attention to the Way You Look

I’m not saying you should be irresistibly handsome like Beckham. This just means that you shouldn’t look like a drunken hobo on your first date. Make sure you took a bath, combed your hair, brushed your teeth… you get what I mean, right? Just look (and smell) presentable.

Tip #3: Be At Least 30 Minutes Early

There’s nothing cute about being late. Coming early to your meeting place is actually an advantage for you. At least you’ll have time to fix yourself, condition your mind, and ensure that everything’s right on track. And oh, if she’s late, don’t be such a jerk about it. Remember, be a gentleman.

Tip #4: Don’t Be a Conversation Hog

Repeat after me: This is not about me. It’s about her.

This best dating tips for men may sound ridiculous, but it’s just a major turn off for women to date a guy who can’t stop talking about himself. I’m not saying you stay quiet and let her talk the entire night. But what I’m saying is to always throw the conversation back to her.

Tip #5: Give Her Your 100% Attention

Stop looking at your watch or on other things. This will only make her feel like you don’t want to be there (even if that’s true).

Listen and look at her when she’s talking. If you genuinely listen, you’ll be able to come up with the right questions and better assessed if you two are really compatible or not.

Tip #6: Don’t Insist On Paying for Everything

Well, it’s the gentleman thing to do, and you should plan to do this. BUT you shouldn’t insist on doing this if your date clearly expressed she wants to split the bill.

If you did numbers 4 and 5 of the dating tips for men that I just mentioned above you’ll immediately know if you have a “Miss Independent” as a date. Women like this feel disempowered or hurt if a guy wouldn’t let them share the cost of the date.

Tip #7: Ditch the 3-Day Rule

If you like her, call her the next day. If you don’t like her, don’t make promises you’ll call. That’s it.

I hope that these tips were helpful for you. You are also very welcome to check the nice video below or to share your best dating tips for men at the end of this post 🙂

I wish you the best!
